In more detail

The holder's token balance lives in the jetton wallet contract, not in the holder's ordinary TON account. The master contract tracks token-wide information, including total supply; each holder's wallet records its own balance and owner.

For a known jetton master, call its get_wallet_address(owner) getter to derive the holder's jetton wallet address. Then call get_wallet_data() on that wallet: it returns the balance, owner address, master address and wallet code. Check the returned master against the intended token.

Reading one owner's account cannot enumerate every jetton it holds. Discovery needs an index of jetton wallets and their owners; direct getters answer a balance question once the relevant master and wallet are known.
